Caren Ware Events put on a fantastic race.
The course was 2 loops on the bike/walk path along the beach. Beautiful scenery with the ocean right there. The path is paved and elevation gain was only 58 feet.
Half marathoners got a really nice full zip jacket. You could pick which race medal you wanted either heart or football (superbowl weekend/valentine’s day). Each half marathoner got a bag of powder protein, medal, and the jacket.
Course support was great with water, granola bars, and bananas.
Communication was great.
Caren was there signing her book if you bought one.
She has traveled the world running on each continent in the remotest places she can find. This race money was going to the Sherpas of Nepal to help send their kids to school.
One of the things I look for in races is where the money goes and the uniqueness of the event.
I found this on an internet search looking for a half near where we would be visiting family. It was the first year and I believe she plans to host it again.
She is actually doing a series of runs once a month. So check out her event page.
Well put on race
