The Harepin Hustle Trail Run at Lake Crabtree in Morrisville, NC offers 5K and 10K race courses that include fun, flowy, forest covered single-track with plenty of hairpin turns and berms. After finishing the race, athletes gather at the park’s beautiful lakeside lawn staging area to enjoy post-race food, great music, a free kids race, and an awards ceremony with fun contests and lots of giveaways.
Providing easy passing, these one loop 5K and 10K courses begin with .3 miles of wide grass and road running. After this beginning section, athletes enter the trails and run along twisty, flowing, and forested single-track, before exiting the trails to run along the grassy perimeter of a beautiful lakeside field to the finish line. These are REALLY FUN trails and include plenty of hairpin turns, berms, and flowy terrain. While most of these courses are on single-track trails, it is not overly tight, so there are plenty of passing opportunities spread throughout. We would categorize these trails as semi-technical, with some moderate root and rock filled sections, and moderate elevation gain. The exact distance of the 5K is 3.4 miles with 207′ of elevation gain and the 10K is 6.2 miles with 397′ of elevation gain.
