Well organized, small scale half marathon Manchester-by-the-Sea; however the route is not really near the ocean. The course is mostly flat with some mild rolling hills, but not much to worry about. There are two sections over gravel/dirt road that are tricky – watch your ankles!

The roads are open during the race, but traffic is mostly minimal and respectful.

The race is well organized by Yukan (as in “Yu Kan Run”) with some good swag for the cost of the race (medals, tech shirt, running cap) and decent food/drink options afterwards (water, energy bars, bananas, the best cider donuts ever, chocolate chip cookies and NA beer).

Overall a fund, low key half and a very easy course – good for a PR before Fall Marathon.

Set in beautiful Manchester-by-the-Sea, nice flat course for a fast race. I’ve run my fastest half marathons here. Starts and ends at the high school, through the village out to Chebacco Woods and back.
