Goteborgsvarvet Marathon

Take the chance to run into history when the city of Gothenburg turns 400 and enter the Göteborgsvarvet Marathon. A one-off, totally new race to celebrate the occasion.

Two times around, twice the fun! The Göteborgsvarvet Marathon is a unique challenge, allowing you to experience the closed roads and city centre of one of Scandinavia’s most beautiful and vibrant cities.

The course is spectacular and split into two very different enjoyable loops. The first takes you out onto the classic Half marathon course hugging the river Göta, through the harbour and famous shipyard. The second takes runners into new territory on the closed roads of the city centre, along wide, stunning boulevards lined with support, before looping back to hero’s finish.
