Falmouth in the Fall, a classic local road race held each autumn since 1979, is now under the direction of Falmouth Road Race, Inc. The seven-mile race, which is run on the same seaside course as the ASICS Falmouth Road Race, was founded by Jack Oser, along with Jim and Betty Gehris, long-time Falmouth Road Race volunteers. After directing the race for about eight years, the Gehrises turned over the duties to Don Facey, who served as race director until 2018. In 2019, the race was managed by Cape Cod MOVES, under the leadership of Carl Gustafson. Falmouth in the Fall will continue to honor Don Facey with an award in his name, as a tribute to his years of service. Each year, a portion of proceeds will be donated to a featured charity partner to assist in the vital work they do to support our community.
