Easy access to the race start with downtown parking or a walk from one of the local downtown hotels. There was adequately marked throughout the race but a mixup at the first turn due to lack of signage or volunteers at the first turn caused most runners to add an extra half mile to mile to their race. The start of the race was more scenic by the water with a mostly flat course. Part of the course navigated through a more industrial/commercial portion of downtown but that was short lived. I loved the shirt and finishers medal.

There was no signage or volunteers at the first turn within the first mile of the race, so everyone went straight. This led to most runners adding an extra half mile to mile to their race. Too bad for anyone wanting a PR because the weather was great and the course was nice and flat. Everything else about the race was great but this put a big bummer on it right from the beginning.

It’s a very well put-together event, and that’s saying something for Evansville, IN. It’s the closest half marathon to me, any others are 1+ hour away so unless things get really awful and unenjoyable, I’ll always participate in this.
