Los Banditos del Scorcho,
In the beginning, we didn’t know about park permits. There were no timing chips. We didn’t have music or awards or popsicles or food trucks or even a medical staff. Hell, we didn’t even have a water source in Trinity Park. We didn’t have a clue.
But somehow… something… happened….
El Scorcho was never meant to be an established race. It was just a goof mused in the waning moments of a long training run than turned into something bigger than any of us.
It was you. All of YOU.
Year one turned into dos… tres… cuatro… and so on… and so on… and so on….
And after ten years, it’s time to let the sun finally rise on our midnight jaunt.
We sincerely thank you for letting us be a part of this crazy journey. El Scorcho will always exist… because it was never about the race… it was about the people.
Vaya con Dios, amigos.
