This is a smaller race but I found it extremely well-organized. Easy pick-up of running bib the day before and race director (Nada) was very helpful. It’s a 4-loop course for the full marathon but seeing the temple and monument ruins (especially sunrise as we started from Hatshepsut Temple) made it a great course to run. The streets were well-blocked and lots of police presence made me feel safe even though I was running alone for much of the race. Water stations (bottled water) and bananas every 2-3 miles. I appreciated they kept the water stations open until everyone finished. Overall definitely recommend…great location, flat course, nice race team!

How to explain the emotion of running on this land of history.
What a sensation to start this amazing marathon in the “early morning” under a magnificent full moon on the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, to follow in the footsteps of Ramses and to approach the tombs of the Valley of Kings.
Even if the course proposes 4 identical loops without great difficulty, it allows even to admire remains of the greatness the Egypt of Pharaons.
What an extraordinary experience to be able to run with the young Egyptian children by crossing 2 villages not far from the sacred banks of the Nile.
Only one advice, come to take part in this exotic marathon and do not forget your camera.
