What’s Drumstick Dash LA?
Drumstick Dash LA is an annual 5k / 10k running event held on Thanksgiving morning in order to raise funds for the homeless and hungry throughout the San Fernando Valley. The event is hosted by Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission located in the Northeast Valley. We rely on the generous support of the community so Move Your Feet So Others Can Eat!
Race Day begins on the morning of Thanksgiving at the pre-designated race course. This is a family event with runners opting to run, walk, and even push strollers. The 5K race will have 1 water station available for participants at the half-way point. The 10K race will have 3 water stations available along the course. Water and post-race refreshments will be available for participants at the finish line.
In order to accommodate the largest number of runners, please seed yourself according to your pace. If you plan to walk or push a stroller, please place yourself toward the back. Your time doesn’t begin until you cross the start line.
The Cause
Annually the Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission provides over 207,000 hot nutritious meals, 61,000 nights of shelter and places hundreds of homeless men, women and children into permanent and permanent supportive housing. The proceeds of this event go towards providing these hot meals and shelter for the homeless.
