The 50 Mile and 50K ultra events are on Pure Michigan, runnable single track, gnarly trails! To celebrate 30 YEARS IN THE DIRT we are offering a 30K race for one year only! You won’t be disappointed. Expect to be scratched, muddied and bruised by the beauty of this unpolished gem. Take yourself to the edge where life is full color… and dirty.
All entries include a post race bash with food and drink, marked course with aid, awards eligibility and finisher medal. Age group awards 3 deep in all 5 year male/female age groups for all events, overall awards to top 3 male and female in each distance.
The 55M Relay has lots of great, honest trail running, laced with off trail Hell, dished up by mother nature.
You can choose your team type. Go for it all with an IN IT TO WIN IT team of up to 5 people, or soak in the experience with a JUST FOR FUN team of up to 10 people. Either way it’s time to grab some friends and drag them to Hell! No late Relay entry so get on it!
Course Overview
As always, the course keeps a changin’. Due to your comments and suggestions, we continue to polish this diamond in the rough. Lots of it will be similar but as usual, somehow harder!
General Dances With Dirt Course Information: The footing (What footing?) is rocky, muddy (a few river crossings) and loose in places. The trail is not maintained (non-existent) in some areas. We love this stuff and hope you do too.
Is the trail as tough as advertised? Yes and No. It’s no run down a nature trail (but at times it is just that), you will get wet and muddy. You won’t get swept down stream in any whitewater. Some big hills but no supplemental oxygen is needed. Our descriptions are a disclaimer. All in all, a great run in a beautiful environment…with stupid spots.
By the way….when you’re out on the trail and you see a sign that says “Wrong Way Moron”…don’t go that way (moron)!
