This is a huge 5K in downtown Manchester on a Thursday evening produced by Millennium Running. There are lots of separate corporate teams but it is also easy to participate as an individual. My workplace is out of Boston and Manchester is a little far from Boston for my workplace to have a team so I registered as an individual. Luckily the day of the race I was working in Nashua which is normally a 20ish minute drive to Manchester so I could do an evening race there. Since the race is so popular just a warning it took a long time to drive into Manchester and it was almost an hour drive and the price of parking was jacked up for the event and the parking garage I usually use was $20 which is more than usual. These aspects are a bit out of the race control and everything else was well organized. Even though I only arrived about 25 minutes before the race I had time to get my bib and use porta potty since everything was pretty efficient. The swag for the race was a tech shirt. It was nice quality and design but too neon for me. The race is very well organized and starts and ends on Elm street where most Millennium races start. Its not the most scenic but it’s convenient and there were some spectators. This race has potential to be hot but it was cool and drizzly tonight. The race is quite fast as it is a slight uphill on Elm street and then you turn a block and it is slight downhill. Other than a slight hill at the end it is very fast. I was happy I had my fastest 5K of the year. The finish has a big celebration in the park with booths for the company and the typical food at the end of Millennium races. Overall this is a fun race on a Thursday evening. The crowds make it fun but also make some of the logistics a bit annoying. I’d recommend if you can get to Manchester on a Thursday evening.
One of the Most Popular Races in NH
