The Colt 45 Trail Run features the beautiful trails in Colt Creek State Park. Runners will travel through “longleaf pine flatwoods, thick cypress domes, and open vistas. This park is home to many species of plants and animals – including bald eagles, white-tailed deer, American alligators, otters, gopher tortoise, and the Sherman’s fox squirrel”!
There are three distances, so there is something for everyone!
The 45 miler will be three 14 mile loops with a 3-mile starter loop.
The 45k will be two 14 mile loops.
The 45 Furlongs course will be one 5.6 mile loop.
45 Mile Course – Start on the paved path next to Mac Lake. You will do a starter loop, which will bring you back by the S/F around mile 2.4. You will then complete 3 full loops. There will be 4 aid stations per loop. (Start/Finish, AS 1 (twice) & AS 2. It is approximately 3 miles from the S/F to AS #1. It’s 5.3 miles back to AS #1, approximately 3.3 miles to AS #2 and 3 miles back to the S/F.
45K Course – Start on the paved path next to Mac Lake. You will complete 2 full loops. There will be 4 aid stations per loop. (Start/Finish, AS 1 (twice) & AS 2. It is approximately 3 miles from the S/F to AS #1. It’s 5.3 miles back to AS #1, approximately 3.3 miles to AS #2, and 3 miles back to the S/F.
45 Furlongs Course – Start on the paved path next to Mac Lake. You will complete 1 (5.6 miles) loop. There will be 1 aid station on the course, at approximately 2.7 miles, and then another at the start/finish.
