Chicot Challenge 100 Mile Trail Relay

Chicot Challenge has officially been nicknamed “The End of Race Season Trail Party” by one of our runners, and we like it! The Chicot Challenge 100 Mile Trail Relay consists of teams of 2,3 or 5 covering 100 miles in the beautiful Chicot State Park. Run through hard wood forests, piney woods, over bridges through the swamp… this trail is a taste of all that is Louisiana.

This race proves that you can run REALLY fast and have a blast while doing it. The runners were fueled by boudin, gumbo, burgers, along with an assortment of other offerings, and still set record paces. Everyone came with the plan of running hard and having fun, and both of those were achieved. We witnessed a 3 person team set a 100 mile time of 13:10 (WOW!), and the LeBlanc family (Lorenz and his 4 sons) put on a last minute surge to win the 5 person relay by 3 minutes over the Speed GOATS. So much fun to witness!

The day was filled with food, laughter and light-hearted trash talking. It really was the perfect way to celebrate the end of race season. This race is amazing because of the people who participate – thank you for making great memories for everyone involved.
