Chengdu Marathon

As the rising iconic marathon figure in western China, the Chengdu Marathon is dedicated to being organized in accordance with the “Double-Gold” standard of Chinese Athletic Association and International Association of Athletics Federations.

As a candidate for the World Marathon Majors, the organizing committee of the Chengdu Marathon has consistently adhered to the standards of World Athletics and the World Marathon Majors. Following the international operating standards of events, the Chengdu Marathon is currently the only marathon event in China that can officially announce the date of the following year’s race immediately after the current event.

Chengdu Marathon plans to welcome 35,000 runners worldwide who will start the race from Jinsha Site Museum. The course will pass through Jinniu District, Qingyang District, Jinjiang District, Chenghua District, Wuhou District, Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone and Sichuan Tianfu New Area. The half marathon finish line is located at Sichuan University Museum; the marathon finish line is located at Century City International Exhibition Center.

The slogan of the event is “Chengdu runs towards the World, and the world runs into Chengdu”, aims to present and maintain the image of “Significant Economic Center in Western China”, “National Integrated Transportation and Communication Hub”, “National Gateway City of Open-Door Policy” and “The Most livable and Appropriate for Industry City” to the whole world, promote and cultivate the cultural treasure to blossom in Chengdu. The main element of event logo is panda, integrated with “Sunbird’, showcase the unique beauty of Chengdu. The overall “Welcome” posture of panda reflects the openness and inclusiveness of Chengdu, the combination including three colored stripes (Chengdu Marathon blue, Sichuan Spirit red and Tianfu yellow) is not only a symbol of run track, but also the reflection of the “Road of Innovation” of Chengdu.

Chengdu Marathon aims to build the high-standard and international brand. The event organizing committee has made lots of developments in registration, course plan, aid station plan, athletes service with setting up 23 aid stations and 26 music aid stations along the course. Besides, the runners will be introduced into the happy atmosphere of Chengdu Marathon in advance by participating the official online race of Chengdu Marathon, official training camp and charity activities.
