I down-graded to the 5 miler, to give a torn hip some time to heal. I was pleasantly surprised with a challenging yet runnable course along Folsom Lake. The weather stayed dry during my run, but there were some wet and muddy parts along the course. The course is mostly an out and back, and has a mix of trail and asphalt. I got a nice Mug, and a really great plaque for getting 2nd in age group.

I think taking place the day before a big half marathon keeps the head count down. My run had a total of about 70 participants. The trail was well marked. The check in process was fast and easy. The post run snacks and food are nice. Chili or soup is available. One stretch you are running through a parking lot but eventually do veer back onto a trail. Fun, friendly environment. Course not completely closed so you will encounter recreational hikers, runners and bikers

The trail is excellent. There are great views. I highly recommend doing any trail run in Granite Bay. The production is real good. It’s a small run. The inclines are not too bad in comparison. Post race was good. Chiropractor assesments and local business. The food lay out and options were good.
