The annual Celtic Winter Classic 24 Hour Run is sure to be a classic! We had a great time last year and are expecting an even greater event this year! There will be many different categories to suit all runners and walkers alike! Come join the fun and meet your New Years Resolution. Pitch a tent in the infield and stay the night under the lights in beautiful North East Bakersfield. The event is in support of the Highland High Athletic Booster Club.
All races will begin at 8:00am on Saturday. The course will close at 8:00am Sunday. All runners will have 24 hours to complete their race. (except for relay runners). The 12 hour relay will end at 8:00pm.

– 24 hour run
– 12 hour relay (up to ten runners per team) all male, all female, and coed divisions: top teams in each category will receive awards
– 50 mile
– 50k
– 5k 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & up: male & female: medals to top 3 in each category
A fully stocked aid station will be up and running throughout the event at the start/finish area. This course is a flat one mile loop which will make for easy access to needed support and an easy transition for relay teams. Electronic timing will be used for all races.
Relay teams will consist of up to 10 per team. Each runner will complete one full lap (one mile) and then hand off the baton to a teammate. The team that runs the furthest in the time allowed (12 hours) will win.
One pacer at a time may accompany their racer. A racer may elect to have more than one pacer throughout the event but may only use one at a time.
Awards
100 mile finishers will receive a Belt Buckle (2nd, 3rd and 4th year finishers will receive a different buckle).
50 Mile and 50k finishers will receive a custom finisher medallion.
There will be individual awards for the top male and female runners who complete the most loops in 24 hours.
12 hour relay team winners will receive medals.
5k age group runners will receive medals (top 3 in each age group)
Runners coming from out of town: Please consider making a weekend out of it and visiting some of our great local dining. There are many wonderful restaurants to choose from. Feel free to email Adam Setser ([email protected]) for recommendations for lodging and dining. If you plan to bring a trailer, please park it in the south parking lot under the solar panels. There are no hook-ups but there is plenty of room. We look forward to having you at this growing event!
