This is the final race in the Capital Area Race Series (CARS) Series in Concord, NH and is in honor of a local runner and former cross country coach who died last year. My parents were out of town and I had to housesit for them in Concord and watch their pets so I had to stay local this weekend. The CARS series is a nice series of small races that have generally between 100-200 runners per race. I travel too much to do the whole series but have done 3 of the races this year and I have enjoyed them all. I plan to likely do more next year when I will be taking it a bit slower with half marathons. This race starts at the delta dental office building which is right by the community college in Concord. Most of the course is on the community college campus. Parking was easy and there was a short email with pre race info. Packet was inside the building and included bib and a tote bag with the race logo. I liked how I got a different swag item each race I’ve done in the series and not just a shirt at all of them. The course is chip timed and well organized and marked. It’s kind of a boring course but flat except a small bridge. You just run through the college campus. The finish line is well set up with an announcer. My finish time was pretty good. There was good post race food including bagels and donuts. Overall this was a very, solid 5K that is worth doing if you are in the area.
