The 7th edition of the “Ass Series” Trail Mix-up Adventure Runs will be presented by the Broadway Ultra Society (BUS) this June at Forest Park, Queens starting at 8:00 AM. The 50K event will be included with the New York Ultra Running (NYUR) Grand Prix Series for 2019.
The event will be two races in one: a 30-kilometer and a 50-kilometer, but NOT separate. There only will be one start, and if you do go on to 50K, you still will be recorded with an official time and place for the 30K. You DO NOT have to declare what distance (30K or 50K) you are running.
The check-in area will be near the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Park Lane South, with the Start & Finish Staging area a short distance up a park road.
The race loop is a 5 kilometer loop on a variety of paved & trail terrain. Paved surface is about 1.1 miles mainly on asphalt park drives. The trail sector is about 2 miles in scenic woodsy surroundings. The trail is very runnable but will still include rocks, boulders, wood chips, roots, wood steps and leaves. But it cannot be considered “technical”… however it is still challenging. The overall race loop is rolling with a 250-yard significant climb. The 30K course will be 6, and the 50K course will be 10 loops.
All pre-entries (received by May 23rd) will receive a decorative dri-fit race shirt. Finisher awards (with the “ass” design) will be presented for either the 30K or 50K.
