The Buckeye Triathlon and Multisport Festival has something for everyone, including all ages and ability levels! Races include beginner, sprint, olympic, and ⅓ iron distances in triathlons, duathlons, aquabikes, and aquathlons, with various open swim distances. Racers call this race one of the best events in Ohio because of our positive, friendly community of support! It’s a small race with a big race atmosphere. Plus there is free training help, along with awesome performance tees in gender-specific cuts, in-race pictures, finisher medals, and a post-race meal! Race assured that we will ensure the safety of all athletes, have medical support and law enforcement on site, and adhere to all Federal, State and Local ordinances, so you can achieve your goals! All are welcome; come race with Zoom Racing!
The race will take place at Cowan Lake Creek State Park Beach in Wilmington, Ohio, about 70 miles southwest of Columbus and 40 miles Southeast of Dayton. Cowan Lake is a beautiful park outside of Wilmington, Ohio, and we are excited to return with a new bike and run course.
The swim will be in Cowan Lake, which is a very calm lake with very light boat traffic. We will swim in a rectangle close to the beach with a focus on keeping racers safe. The water is shallower near the shore and you can touch there, but on the backside of the course, you will not be able to touch bottom. Beginner triathletes will be able to touch bottom the entire swim course. The transition area will be in the lower parking lots closest to the beach Athletes will be on a paved surface as they transition from segment to segment.
The bike course goes a clockwise loop around Cowan Lake with 345 feet of elevation. The bike is on a paved road open to motorized traffic.
The run in out and back on a closed course. It is also on a mostly flat paved path with 133 feet of elevation change. Athletes will finish in the parking lots next to the transition area and then can celebrate their accomplishment with post race food and drink.
