The packet pick up was very well organized and did not take too long. The weather was great and the course was flat. The only disappointing part was that it was still daylight when most runners ran through the Christmas light display portion of the race. If they had started 30-45 minutes later, it would have been a lot better.

One of the first J&A events I ever participated in, and have been signing up ever since. I believe this was the year the Guinness World Record was broken for number of runners completing a 5 mile run in Santa suits. The suit itself added another level of difficulty, but made for a good story afterward. For locals, it’s one of the only opportunities to run on the boardwalk while the Holiday lights are up, as pedestrian acces is shut down in the evenings to allow for vehicles. The after-party is always a blast, as are all J&A events.

I did this when it was still the 10 miler and it was an amazing event (mainly because it was the day after returning from a 6 month deployment). The weather conditions were less than desirable, but that’s uncontrollable. It was on par with other J&A races I have done. Packet pickup, start line, and finish line were extremely well organized. Bonus points for the finish being inside! As always, you can’t beat the 3 free craft beers at the end.
