The Badgerland Striders 24, 12 & 6 Hour Run course is a loop on a wide, gentle trail (mixture of gravel, grass, and dirt) 1 mile long; elevation gain is 72‘ per loop. It will be lighted at night, but runners may use a flashlight or headlamp if they choose.
Directions: Lapham Peak State Park is located west of Milwaukee along Hwy 94 (exit 285, County C). Head south on Hwy C about 1 mile; the park entrance is on the left. The Evergreen lot is the first right after the park entrance station.
Parking Stickers: All vehicles are required to have a state park parking sticker. If you do not have one, we will provide a daily sticker for your vehicle at no charge (additional stickers for crew and spectator vehicles will need to be purchased if required).
Start Times: (pre-race briefing 15 minutes before each start time)
8:00 a.m. 24 Hour
9:00 a.m. 12/6 Hour (day)
8:00 p.m. 12/6 Hour (night)
Distance Division runners may start at 9:00 a.m., and at every hour interval thereafter until 8:00 p.m.
Aid Station: HEED, water, soda, ice, and a wide variety of food items will be provided. Additional food will be available at the end of the 6-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour runs. Runners should also consider bringing food/fluids they know would work for them (tents/tables/chairs can be set up around the loop during the event).
Pacing: Pacing (having a non-registered person run with you) is not allowed. During your walking breaks, family/friends may accompany you around the loop, but they must not interfere with the other competitors.
Timing: Chip-timing will be used for lap counts. Hourly updates on laps/distance will be provided (or in between as requested). Direction on the loop is switched every 3 hours.
Awards: Plaque for all runners, with name and mileage total.
Note: For consistency and competition reasons, only the day-time options are eligible for 1st place overall awards and records in the 12-hour and 6-hour divisions.
