The Badder Marsh Night Ultra 50K is Fort McAllister’s premiere ultra racing experience!
This beloved lowcountry favorite is returning for another year! We are so excited to have the distinction of being the first footrace to be held in this beautiful and historic park. Both 25k and 50k races will start at 2pm.
This course consists of a flat and fast 3.1 mile loop through a wetland nature preserve; 50k participants to complete 10 laps, and 25k participants to complete 5 laps within a 8 hour time cutoff for the event. Run past tidal marsh through maritime forest on a partial dirt trail and partial pavement sidewalk. We recommend choosing shoes appropriate for varied trail surface. The course is wide enough in all places for 2-3 runners abreast, providing for easy passing of other participants. Running this course will give racers plenty of opportunity to spot gators, turtles, waterfowl, and other marsh nature. Every loop will start and finish at the main aid station.
In addition to providing hydration and standard ultra-race fare, there will also be plenty of space at this aid station for your own gear drop. If you have special dietary needs, please be sure to bring those specific items with you as we cannot guarantee provision for everyone’s unique circumstances. We ask that all runners demonstrate respect for the trail by disposing of their trash/litter in the receptacles provided; anyone caught littering will be disqualified. In our continued effort to host low environmental impact racing, this will be a cup-free event – please bring your own hand-held/hydration system.
This is a Cup Free Event. Please bring a handheld or hydration system to keep yourself hydrated on the course. This is a hot, and humid race and you’ll need to carry fluids on you.
