I wanted to keep my marathon momentum going and figured this was a nice in between half and a 5k. Since about half the course is on sidewalk, you are sharing the road with leisure bay visitors and runner doing their run back to the finish line. Good number of volunteers at the water stations throughout the course. I was trying to find information regarding gear in on their website but couldn’t find one, so I expected there wasn’t one. To my surprise, there was gear check in and bunch of vendor booths in-between the registration table and start line. The start/finish line was located on a top of the grass hill and the grass was wet. I was scared sprinting from and to, with the fear of slippage. I personally won’t be doing this again since the heat reached close to 80 degrees by 8am and I don’t do very well with heat (This is more a personal reason). There was a lot of people running this event, more than I personally expected and even networked with other runners (This is why I love the running community <3). I might run in the future but will look for more cooler marathons in November/December. I know this is a hard prediction in regard to San Diego weather.

Generic race but can appreciate the effort put into it. Best part was they actually start people in corrals and let runners get spaced out so there’s limited bottlenecks. Flat course, plenty of parking, fast check in. Only bummers were that the medals don’t distinguish who did what distances, and that the post race celebration was mainly purchase options.
