The production and content leading up to the race really got me hyped. The swag on the website looked awesome and I was ready to go. Day of the packet pick-up, I find out that the hats that have been advertised weren’t part of the swag. And, instead we got a fanny pack. Literally broke first wear.
Day of the race. My expectations are now less. The course itself wasn’t anything special. The tunnels, lights, and whatnot weren’t impressive and the course was mostly parking lots and side streets.
Where Heartland does the right thing always is the production of the hype, the atmosphere and bringing people together. Keaton is such a great host and announcer. Kudos to this part of the race.
I hit a PR for a 5k so overall I feel good about it. But probably won’t sign up for this one next year.

I loved this race! I started running in 2023 and did a couch to 5k training to participate in a Turkey Trot.
Fell in love with running and worked up to running 10k, but needed a race to help make it fun.
Running From Yeti was super fun!
The swag was great and the team the put the race on was phenomenal! I really loved the race photos that were part of the registration!
Will be finding more Heartland races to participate in and even my wife is now signed up for the Sasquatch race in September!
