This race is in Boise ID, which is a great town. I stayed at Springhill suites which is ,4 of a mile to the packet pickup and finish.
Free shuttle service too! The packet pickup was not very smooth. 5K-1/2 marsthonsers had to stand in long lines outside in the rain to get their packet. Marathoners have a special line. The shirts are poor printed quality. The shuttles to the start were great and loads of ports Johns at Lucky State Park. No pacers. The course is slight downhill to half, then loops back so slight uphill to 19, then it got confusing! No volunteer at the turnaround at 19.??? I ran past the arrows on the pavement… no cone, nothing! A local runner behind me called me back… so I lost time there… then at a split at 22.5, the volunteer ( who was sitting off under a tree) sent me on a dirt path along the river. I was by myself at that point. This made me run 2.5/10s further again!! I was so confused. Thank Goodness this path ended at the street where the other runners could be seen down The was coming out of a paved path! I ran 26.6 miles but it was redeemed a little that I got 3rd in age. Good baked potatoes st the end, no beer. Medal was really cheap looking. No chocolate milk. The half marathon is their pet child!!

I really enjoyed the course for the Duke City Marathon this past Saturday. I traveled from Tennessee and it was my 27th state ! There were NO photographers on the course or finish of the marathon. I always choose a couple pictures to put into my Marathon 50 state memory book. What a bummer!
The Expo is so far away from the convention Center! I stayed at the Doubletree at the start. As the city is not big and the airport close, I did not rent a car. There were no shuttles to the casino so I had to take a taxi. That was $40 each way!!!
Also, there were water stops out if WATER on the way back on the marathon course! It was getting hot,
Also, the shirts are HUGE!! Mine is a medium and is down to my knees. I can use it as a throw away, but loved the color and wish I could wear it.
I placed in my age group. The award is basically the exact same medal with a different ribbon.

2016 was hot. The course is flat( maybe 3 little inclines), the neighborhoods/people if Fargo make the race so fun, start/finish was inside Fargodome, pizza at end!!! Great race!! MORE

Fast downhill, prepare for lose gravel with erosion divots, but beautiful scenery of fall leaves, rippling brook, camp fires. The end of the race is a little dismal as you run in the side of a road and traffic is passing you. You finish in the parking area and the last mile seems like you just are running around parked cars.
No huge crowds and at times, the cause us lonely. (Which I like) . If you place in your age, the home crafted plates are great on your wall!!! Boston qualifier for sure!!! Love the small intimate races!
