I have never seen such gorgeous scenery on a run, and the snow added even more beauty. It was THE coldest race I’ve ever run (I’m from NC), but I warmed up quickly. The mostly-uphill course map was a bit daunting, but the race was very doable and fun. While it was a net gain in elevation, I have run courses with worse hills in races in my hometown. Super fun and well-run event!

Most of the hills occur in the first half, so when I normally hit the wall (last few miles), I was cruising down hill! Great support along the way, a fair and challenging course overall, and great energy from the other runners. The expo wasn’t all that great, but it was nice having a warm place to be before the race. Shuttle buses were easy to manage before and after the race. Definitely on my list to do again!
