The course in 2026 was incredibly difficult. It was 32 miles of hiking. There were a lot of exposed roots and rocks that sent me and several other runners flying (I 100% sprained my ankle on mile 9.44). There was not much support on the trails when it came to water and/or aid stations, but the people that were there were extremely kind and always asking how we were (they didn’t have water to share, but they wanted to make sure we were okay!). The people who were there to help, however, really made everything great! I only got to see them once in the beginning, once in the middle, and once in the end, but they were very kind and welcoming and supportive. This race was a very pretty one, but very difficult! If you like being in the woods and don’t mind the hike, then go for it! Just be ready. After a few hours of being on your feet, it kicks your butt.

This was my first race ever, and it was great. The people were awesome, there were aid stations everywhere, the scenery was pretty, the course was not too hilly (but not all flat and boring. It was easy but a little challenging in certain areas), and the start and finish line was HYPED UP. We came running in at the end, and they put every participant up on the big screen, announcing your name on the speakers in the stadium, and made a huge deal every time someone finished. They had great snacks afterwards (a downside to this was you had to walk up the stadium stairs after the race to get to the snacks and leave the stadium, which was awful after 26.2 miles on full speed), and, again, everyone was so hyped up. There were people cheering everyone on EVERYWHERE. Everyone was so supportive, even for people they didn’t know. It was WONDERFUL!
