This is an interesting marathon–I wouldn’t recommend for first timers because you might have super long stretches of nothing, but at the same time it is pretty forgiving course– just be prepared for dull moments or bring a friend. How they mail the shirts and bibs is super sweet– whole extra star just for that!

If you’re a first-timer, this may be rough unless you’re used to running down quad punishing hills that may light up your TFLs, quads and knees. Really wish I would have spent more time training for big downhills. That said, it is a beautiful and challenging course that is well planned and supported. Trying to find the pace groups at the start was impossible with the low light was another annoying aspect, but that’s not really a deal breaker for me. So not the most beginner friendly, but here on day 2 of recovery and I am already seeing myself back out there with more salt tabs and better prepared quads.
