This is my favorite half marathon course to run, and my second year running it. Definitely a fast course! The indoor start/finish make it enjoyable for runners and spectators. Best race swag ever, too! This will be on my radar every year.

Very impressed by this race and will definitely do it again. It was a really fun course, great aid stations. There is one boring stretch at the half-way point but it doesn’t last very long. This is one of the most organized races I have participated in.

Very disappointed with this race. Had family doing the 7K and myself and others doing the 14 and 21k races only to learn on race day morning that the 7K was in a completely different spot (actually different CITY) than the other races. This made getting to our designated areas very difficult. No water left at the finish of the race either. Not happy overall.

This course was very confusing- mile markers for multiple races on the same loop, no scenery at all. The race also charged any spectators who wanted to stand inside to stay warm, which seems very wrong. Won’t do this one again.

The race organizers need to think more of the runners than the swag and money they can bring in. Jackets are nice, medals don’t specify distance which isn’t great. No Mylar blankets at the finish (on a cold October MN morning..!?) wasn’t much for finish line food and volunteers were stern on “take ONE please”. Overall, not a fan of Team Ortho races any more.. Race brings a lot of people which is interesting but it wasn’t as organized as it should have been.

Grandma’s Marathon is a great course, love that it is from city to city. Well-organized. Could be more race swag, as you only get a tshirt and medal. By the time I reached the finish line there was no food left at all, which was somewhat of a disappointment as all of the half-marathoners received post-race food.

Ran the Whistlestop as my first Half Marathon and was very happy with this decision! Very fun course, through the woods on an old railroad grade, spectators were at road openings and through Ashland on the final stretch. Shirts were nice, medals nice, great atmosphere. Would definitely do this race again and recommend it!

This is a great point to point half marathon. Nice scenic course, great expo the few days before. Weather is unpredictable in Duluth this time of year, was pretty cold for this race but it made for good times!
