This is an excellent race held at the very northern tip of Wisconsin (on Lake Superior). The course is on a rails to trails path so it is very flat. The fall colors were in full bloom and the scenery was gorgeous. The race is very well run with four distances (5k, 10k, Half Marathon, Full Marathon) that are all on the same morning. This makes it easy for a group to do if not everyone likes the same race distance. The race is point to point so that all distances take a different bus on race morning. Each bus drops the participants out at the appropriate distance and you run or walk back to Ashland. The organization of the start, run, and finish were all great. The community participation and support were wonderful. I felt really valued as a participant and visitor to the area. The race swag was a really nice wind breaker with hood and the medal is huge and impressive.
