I don’t think I have much to add that the other reviewers have already said. No health tracking app this year. All the official Asics race swag was sold out when I arrived at the expo on day 2. Major bummer. Expo was a bit of a disappointment. There are toilets at the start. There are clothing bins drops on the lead up to the start line. The website is hugely lacking in any information about the race for runners.
It was fun and interesting to visit Tokyo. So very clean and well organized.

In my opinion New York Road Runners put on the best racing events hands down. There were a couple hills on this year’s course going through the park. Pro runners like Keira D’Amato and Alexi Pappas were on hand to welcome runners at the finish line and to take photos with fans.

I agree with all that the other reviews said. I was disappointed in the lack of information on the website. No map of the start area or finish area. The official app was not released until the week of the race. On a positive note, the people of London showed up big time for us! Crowd support rivaled NYC.

Great spectators with good signs. Well organized and lots of water/aid stations. Fabulous post race food. Full on buffet with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, pancakes and ice cream sandwiches (all free!). Stay at the Hilton for easy access to start and finish lines. As well as expo in the convention center.

Point to point race with 900 feet declines. Yet there are a couple hills, but the downhill outweighs the uphill. Free shuttle to the start from downtown Concord. I recommend staying at the “Hotel Concord”. Walking distance to finish line. Plenty of water stations. Early registrants received a technical fleece 1/4 zip long sleeve. No expo, just bib pick up at Millennium Running the day before or same day bib pick up. Beautiful reviews through out the course. Quintessential New England experience. The race starts in an orchard! No parking for runners there, you must be dropped off if you don’t arrive by shuttle.

Hilo is not a resort area, so if you are coming here with the idea of relaxing spending time before or after the race, perhaps Kona is a better choice for that. The host hotel was about a mile from the race start/finish. We saw a fair amount of homeless people in town.
I was prepared for the hills and honestly it wasn’t that bad. First 3 or so miles was a gradual incline along a 2 lane busy road. Not so scenic. But then you turn off into residential area and this had some beautiful views. It was an out and back, so the down hill part was heavenly! 197 runners in the half. So not a big event. Small hometown feel. Swag was a big disappointing. They ran out of my size for the t-shirt and the design not so great. They had a nice little expo. Only water was offered post race. They claim of hundreds of volunteers along the course is simply false. I think this is a good race if you are going for a half in every state. Easy in and easy out.

The big draw for me was hearing Ali Feller (podcaster Ali on the Run) announcing my name at the finish!

Coming from the mountains of Colorado to sea level, I thought I was going to nail a PR, but alas I did not. So much for altitude training. The bridges give you some incline, but it wasn’t that difficult. I did not even have to stop and walk, and I am not a fan of hills. The best views were from the bridges. Also, the neighborhoods were pretty. No crowd support, until the finish where others runners cheered you to the line.

Aids stations were plentiful and well run. I chose not to use my hydration vest. Crazy cold weather that day. 32 degrees at the start. I wore full winter running gear. I felt sorry for those not prepared with gloves.

3 weeks post race and I have not received any race photos. I did get a video of the finish line that is the entire race. I scrolled through and did a screen capture to get a finish line picture of myself.

Overall, fun race.
