This course is hilly and difficult but worth it! Great scenery, course profile is varied enough to keep you engaged the whole way. Huge climb around mile 6, huge downhill around mile 10, and don’t forget about the last bump in mile 12! Finishes gently downhill into La Jolla Cove. So pretty! I like to park at the finish in the morning and take the bus to the start, have to get there earlier but makes it easier when you’re done to take your time in La Jolla and get some coffee or watch the sea lions

This race is so fun! I like the All Day 20k because you get to run all the races, and it’s a fun challenge! The scenery is great, an out and back course along the coast that finishes in Carlsbad Village. The new course has only one U turn which is nice, but the last mile is mostly uphill, so be prepared for that! The entire day is well organized, and a great place to hang out after. And be sure to stick around for the kids dash, it’s hilarious!
