This is not a big city race at all but the scenery was amazing! It was so calm and serene and made me feel like I was just out for a really nice (and long) morning run. The course was well laid out and easy to follow. Very flat course with some very short inclines here and there, but a very easy ride. Weather was perfect. The spectator bus system they had was super fun and my parents got to see me at different parts of the course. Everything went so smooth. I just couldn’t ask for a better first Marathon!

It’s always fun to run in the footsteps of legends at Hayward Field where some of the best runners participated in the sport, but this year we also were running where the World Athletics Championships were held in 2022. With those things in mind, it is just a more awe-inspiring experience.

This was my first Princess Weekend, but not my first runDisney race. Rundisney always puts on a superb race. The course can get a little bottlenecked and crowded at some parts but that really is the biggest negative. I’m not usually going for a PR at disney, instead, I’m going for the experience. You get to run through the castle and Magic Kingdom park, you get to stop for character photos along the course, and Princess Daisy or Minnie will greet you at the finish line! It’s just a magical running experience.

This race had great scenery and everything was so green (in the Spring). It was fun cheering on the Marathoners and Half Marathoners during the staggered start and when they crossed the finish line (as I was finished before them since I did the 10k). The Wine festival at the finish was great and you got a ticket for a free plate of food at one of the food trucks!

It was in the 20s when we started so we definitely earned our “Run to Stay Warm” medals during this race. But the good news was that it wasn’t too icy so the run was nice and there were still lots of fall colors to enjoy!
