I love that the Flying Pig race allows runners to participate in extra events for more medals. We participated in the West Mile on Friday night, the 10k and 5k on Saturday, and the half marathon on Sunday (for a total of 5 medals!). They had water stations every 1-1.5 miles which kept the runs interesting. They also did a great job of keeping us safe during the thunderstorms on Saturday (which led to a 3 hour delay for the 5k, but we were given snacks, water, blankets, and a safe place to wait out the storm). Even though we had a slow pace due to injury on Sunday, we felt very supported by everyone involved with the pig, from the medics to the water station volunteers to the cheering sections all along the course. We will definitely be back next year!
