This was a small race, which I do prefer, in a great town. Packet pick up is quick and easy. Race day is low key. Just over 80 did the full marathon and then the half had twice as many and started 30 minutes after the full. This was nice since I can finish before the full marathon racers start coming in. This year, the out and back course we had a tail wind going out and a head wind coming in which made it a little tough, but a net downhill coming back helped. I would recommend this race.

This was a well put on race. They know what they are doing. We stayed down town and there is plenty to do in walking distance. A lot was going on the weekend we were there. The weather was good, the course is flat and it’s a pretty big race compared to the races I have done lately. I think if I were to do it again, I would give them a race time and try to start in an earlier corral. I started in the last corral and while I was fine with that, I think my time would have been better if I had submitted a time and got in a better position. I don’t have any complaints about the race.

Glad I found this race. Set up was at the fairgrounds which was nice. The weather was overcast and somewhat drizzly but I think it was better than being hot with the sun bearing down on you. I kinda felt like I was either running slightly uphill or slightly downhill most the time. There was a long gradual uphill around mile 5-6 which was a grind but overall if I lived in the area, I would definitely run this race again.

Overall the logistics were very good. I was not impressed by the course. Volunteers were great. Not much support from the neighborhoods we ran through. Glad I didn’t run the full. Doing that loop a second time would have been really tough.

Every thing was done well. Had a gorgeous day for a race. Except for some port-o-lets that were locked with no one in them so they couldn’t be used, everything was great. Fortunately a volunteer was able to pry them open so the folks after myself had access to them.
