Unfortunately, several things went wrong with this race: 1) the 5/10K started 25 minutes after the scheduled start time; 2) the course was short, my Garmin showed a 5.68 at the finish instead of 6.2; heard the 5K and half courses were also short; 3) the advertised gift bag was non-existent. I didn’t sign up for the bag but if they can’t provide one, don’t mention it as part of the “swag”; 3) the medal was disappointing. I didn’t sign up for the medal either, but providing a high school track medal with a sticker on the back was pretty disappointing considering what was shown as the expected medal on their website.
After the races and many less than stellar reviews, the sponsor took down their Face Book page and sent an email that essentially lacked any responsibility for the disappointing experience by many. If this sponsor intends to have another race in Nashville, the 2016 experience was not a great example of what they can provide to the runners.
