the race used a different course than previous years – 3 different out and back legs alongside the Yakima River but next to busy freeways. Long sleeve lightweight hoodie was nice. You had the option of in-person or virtual race. The RD and crew are great!

Chilly start but things warmed up as the day went on. The aid stations were manned by enthusiastic volunteers. A few stretches weren’t terribly scenic but the course was pretty flat and had decent crowd support.

Due to Covid, this race was much smaller than in normal years and the weather did not cooperate at all. Overall, the course is nice and would have been scenic … MORE
Due to Covid, this race was much smaller than in normal years and the weather did not cooperate at all. Overall, the course is nice and would have been scenic had it not been for the downpour. The same medal was given out for all 4 races (5K, 10K, HM and marathon). The finisher jacket was great. the volunteers are really wonderful and make the race – spotters at every turn and very enthusiastic aid station volunteers.

almost all on two bike paths through woods and parks. Some rolling hills but nothing too steep. Nice medal and LS shirt. I missed seeing the bear at mile 22(!) … MORE
almost all on two bike paths through woods and parks. Some rolling hills but nothing too steep. Nice medal and LS shirt. I missed seeing the bear at mile 22(!) but saw a big tree stump with googly eyes in the woods along the trail. Aid stations were good but they did run out of grilled cheese sandwiches for us back of the packers.
