Good course, some gradual yet not difficult climbing early on that gets you to the highest point where it then catapults you downhill to the awesome flat section where you can develop a nice steady rhythm to finish strong! Good course support, although I am not a fan of Gatorade products. LOVED seeing Meb at the halfway point!! I loved the idea of qualifiying for this race, the faster flow of runners on the course enabeled me to keep a steady pace to hit my PR goal of under 2 hours for the first time ever! The finish line support was great, I would like to have had a different variety of food items than what there was available. Yellow bananas would have been more appetizing as well as bagels, pretzels, oranges–please consider for next time! Overall, it was a well organized event!

Santa Barbara WIne Country Half Marathon is one of my favorite races! The course is awesome, from the start in beautiful downtown Santa Ynez that winds through a lovely neighborhood where you get to see “Royal” the turkey, to the quaint town of Los Olivos where the crowd cheers on runners and the course support is great; then to the famous Corkscrew Hill where you feel like king or queen of the mountain at the top, that launches runners down through the magnificent vineyards of Ballard Canyon! The last mile into Solvang gives you that feeling of the runners high, as the crowd along the way cheers and encourages everyone to the finish line!! I’ve done this race 4 times and it never gets old, always exciting every time! The finishers medal is always a beautiful tribute to the wine experience!

Well organized, point to point race through the spectacular Utah landscape, ending at the Zion Park entrance! The course is a bit challenging as it is like running up a very long, gradual ramp!! One of my favorite medals!! A definite “must run” for any half marathoner!!
