This race is very well put together. From check in running smoothly, to having a bag check, great beer, and an awesome finisher medal, this race was great fun. My biggest complaint is that the beginning is a bit of a mess as way too many people try to funnel through the start line at once. It might be beneficial to have fencing that is even with it so there isn’t a bottleneck. Other than that, you will want to be closer to the front than you probably think, as the first portion of the race is more dodging people that should have been near the back at the start. Once you make it to the only real climb, it gets better. Having people playing instruments throughout the course is a nice touch and adds to the fun of the course.

The race was nice, only a smallish hill at the midpoint. Otherwise it is a nice bike path run, so not a lot of space as far as running next to people/passing, but otherwise a fun time. You get a pancake breakfast afterwards which includes mimosas or bloody marys! So, not a bad way to start the year!

This was my first 10K and it went pretty well. It was pretty warm, but running in the evening certainly helped with that, and the weather was good. The production was smooth and the only somewhat disappointing part was that for it being called a Nightglow, most of the run was done in daylight. Still, it was fun, and all the people were awesome!

Could you ask for anything more? You get to run alongside some of the best Roller Coasters in the world! If that weren’t enough, the medal is a roller coaster car that has a magnet on it so you can make a train if you run it multiple times. Check in was a breeze, the weather was good (other than a little rain at the very beginning), and the course is basically flat. We had a blast and got to get a ride on Steel Vengeance right after! Only downsides were the fact the swag was a black and white hat which was a tad disappointing, but not the worst thing, and the cost is a bit steep, but you are getting a park ticket, so it’s not surprising.

This was my first trail run, so I don’t know how it stacks up to others, but the production was great! The prizes include full size replica swords, daggers, etc. The medals are great, there is a post run BBQ meal, costume contest, etc. It was a blast overall. The trail was hard, with steep sections that were a bit sketchy, a bridge that would bounce so you had to be careful as you ran over it. It is certainly a good workout if nothing else!

This was a fun run marred by bad weather. It rained all night before and snowed during the race. Since the race course is just running along the edge of cleared cornfields, it was just running through giant mud pits. Even had to cross a section that was underwater at one point. The course is fairly flat other than the large downhill in the beginning and the large uphill about midway through. It was more about trying to not slip, fall, or injure yourself than it was finishing quickly. Still fun, and the medals were top notch and you got a small cup of cider afterwards. If the weather were good, it would be a really fun time I’d imagine.

It was a hot one, and considering a good portion is just a giant uphill section, it wasn’t the best of times. But, the location was great, and everything went smoothly. The race was delayed for a bit, but once we were ready to go, there were no problems. Definitely think I’ll train on some hills before going back for this one.
