Overall a well-organized race (though the start was late due to traffic for 5 bonus shivering minutes), but a huge miss on the aid stations. They volunteers were great, and it’s nice to have a choice between water and Gatorade, but not a single aid station had a single food calorie. For a race of this size/scale/cost, that’s a big miss, and they had at least had some gu at some aid stations last year. Considering how well the rest of the race was run that miss was a big surprise & disappointment.

Course markings were ok on roads and normal trails, but lacking on all mesas, especially the first. We had to consolidate into groups to try and find markers and it really slowed us down and took away from enjoying the view. Top notch aid stations, great culture, professionally run, but the markings on the mesas really took away from the experience.
