Well organized race. The race team had excellent pre-race communication through email, facebook, and other media means. The content of that communication was excellent from dealing with how/where/when to park, what to expect. Packet pickup had a methodical organization to it.
Race day weather and organization of the corrals was easy to find. The organizers and announcers did well in moving the corrals through the start of the race.
Race itself was well staffed both with fluids, security, and neighbors/friends cheering along the way. Nothing felt disorganized moving through the course. If I had feedback it would be to have a better fluid option than just water/electrolytes – maybe something that adds some carbs in the fluids.
Beautiful scenery through the stockyards, but the cobble was brutal on my feet. Well worth it though snaking through that historic area.
Finishing the race was well organized in terms of medals, finishing shirts, and food. If I had one suggestion, if you missed the entrance for the checked bag pickup, it was a bit of a puzzle to figure out how to get back into the corralled area to get your bag.
I’ll be back to this one!
