I liked this race because it was relatively low key, a little more than 1000 runners. Sackets Harbor is a cute town, and everyone is very friendly. The course is a relatively flat out and back scenic run through the town and rural farmland. Nice little downhill right before the finish line to give you a boost. Police and volunteers at all road crossings. The parking was awesome, a short walk to the start/finish line, and lots of it. They allow packet pickup day of the race, no need to go the day before if it doesn’t work. Positive vibe the entire day!! Here is a perk, volunteers had golf carts to take spectators and finishers from the race into town, about 1 mile – no need to move the car!! Also, there were coupons for local restaurants in the goodie bag. This race is only in its third year, but they have down pat.
