This race has changed its course. The traditional back end, which finished in the shade with awesome crowd support, is now at the beginning of the race. The back end is in full sun on Summit Lake, which isn’t the best part of Akron to showcase in a race. The race starts half an hour later, which exacerbates the heat factor for slower runners. The start is also unexciting for back of the packers. The finish party is still exceptional.
