Nice and easy flat course at the San Leandro Marina Park that allows you to run alongside the water coast. There was plenty of free parking and Brazen did a great job hosting the event with plenty of friendly volunteers, delicious snacks/ice cream sandwiches, and the medal & shirt design were awesome.

Great race to set that PR you’ve been training for.

This was my first time running with Brazen and everything about the race was awesome. Bib & swag pick-up was very efficient, there were plenty of restrooms for everyone, and there was a large variety of snacks and ice cream after the race.

The race itself was pretty tough as it involved a brutal stretch of uphill running for about a mile (though felt like an eternity) and the narrow trail made it so that there are single file lines of people walking for good chunks of the race. Once you make it up, there’s a aid station with water/gatorade/snacks to help you refuel before you start the run down, treading carefully as you pass by the people still making their way up.

Overall, this is a great race for anyone looking to challenge themselves with a tough hill run and I’m looking forward to trying the 10K or Half version next year.

This was my first trail race ever so it will always have a special place in my heart. The race is kept to about 200-300 people and there was only a total of 80 people doing the 5K so the course was pretty spacious. Bib & shirt pick-up was super quick and there seemed to be enough parking to accommodate almost everyone.

The 5K course consists mostly of flat ground with one large steep hill near the halfway point of the course. The ribbons are fairly easy to follow and you get a high five from the Sasquatch at the end of race. Once you catch your breath, you can sign up for a massage, enjoy great tasting beer from Standard Deviant Brewing Co, and indulge in a bunch of snacks as you cheer on the other finishers.

The medal and t-shirt are great quality and there are also wooden medallions you can find on the trail to trade in for prizes. Looking forward to continuing running the Sasquatch races in the future.
