Another awesome year of this race! I LOVE living in the Quad Cities and this race is a demonstration of how wonderful our community is. The race director and team work extremely hard to make sure this race goes off without a hitch. And they take suggestions to improve the race year after year. Last year some of us got stopped by a train and this year they had race officials recording and timing mats to prepare for if it happened again. Fortunately it didn’t happen this time – but it did start raining cats & dogs at about mile 6! I had trained really hard and nothing was going to stop me from getting under 2 hours (PR) – but it definitely helped to have so many INCREDIBLE volunteers and spectators out there. I got Gatorade and GU’s – and medical was always around if anyone collapsed. This race is extremely well organized and I am so happy it is a part of our annual traditions in the QC!
