Prior to this, I had only run the BEAST version of the Spartan races and those are great if you’re up for the challenge. Everything about these races are great from the volunteers, the other participants and the production. Just a great time. I talked my sister into running this one as a first timer and while the weather didn’t help, she loved it and is already talking about doing it again. FYI, I was slow because I stayed with my sis.. Still had a blast

If you love the looks and smells of LA it might be an event for you but if you like beautiful runs and a high energy healthy crowd, this isn’t the race. The pre race info was lacking, both distances received the same medal and the participant t was just a basi T.. Cheap. I expected more for the Run to remember name. Maybe they’ll get it right next year. Just a shame.. the best part was the run through the studio and the first responder support

For personal reasons, I ran in the later corrals so I expected heavy traffic but I at least expected the water stations to be active. There were several stations where the volunteers were just sweeping up cups and there wasn’t any water to be given. The weather also played a part so many of the stages were empty. Mile markers had blown over and the course was dark in areas. It was windy and cold and I didn’t see anyone happy at the finish line. It was also work to get my banana and water at the end. Just horrible.

Due to the heat, they offered all runners (even half marathon runners) the ability to start early. A big mistake in my book. The faster runners were slowed by slower runners and the large crowd. Kind of a cluster in the AM.
