Good charity race. As usually San Francisco weather in February tends to be wet and windy. Rain came down at the start line but eased up as the race got underway. It was a mostly flat and downhill course through Golden Gate Park and finished near the Great Highway. Lots of helpful volunteers. The race t-shirt was a nice cotton poly blend material with logo and the finisher medal had a unique SF themed design.

Fast and Flat. Most of the race is on the famous Las Vegas Strip. Albeit starting from the downtown area near the Stratosphere looping around to the Mirage for the finish. I think the marathon itself would’ve been much more fun as you get to run along the more parts of the Vegas Strip where more spectators and bands were setup along the route. For the 10K, we were mostly in the drab downtown area with only one band that I remember seeing or hearing and fewer spectators.

This is a very fast flat course from Embarcadero Ferry Building near the Bay Bridge to the Marina Green near Golden Gate Bridge. The 5K doesn’t quite capture the great views as the 10K does but it is a fast race with one big hill. I had a great time at this race. The finish area included a wine tasting.

This is San Francisco’s most famous foot race. I’ve probably ran it about 3 or 4 times now. Well organized but crowded. Absolutely packed at the start line and along the route. Some of the best swag at the finish was the giveaway food and drinks from sponsors. The expo is also a fun one to attend.
