This race was not easy! Be prepared to run in deep sand. A lot of it was a fast hike because of the terrain. The slot canyons were absolutely stunning. It was worth it to be able to access areas that tourists cannot see. There were at least 5. Most had a technical aspect to them (ladders, rock scrambling, ropes, cables). Definitely made the course interesting and fun. Then there was the technical aspect the race creators threw at us! There was one section around mile 26 that will test your fear! All in all it took me a lot longer than expected. You have to allot for the time it takes to get through the canyons (sometimes single file, waiting for ladders, etc). And the cables/ rock climbing definitely slowed me down a bit! Be careful of grim reaper times! They seem generous but were surprisingly close. Had to hustle a couple times. Wouldn’t recommend to run this one for time. But would definitely recommend it!
