I was injured and hence not as prepped as I wanted, but it was a great race nonetheless. People cheering throughout the course (so many neighborhoods, and so many families), and great tribute mile to Mark Knutson. The race announcer had the right enthusiasm, and given the size of Fargo it was still a good turnout.
Kudos to the “Go Far” option as well. The Friday Night 5K was a celebration and outstanding — I’d consider it a Must-Do part of the experience.
A great race that totally lived up to its billing. Thrilled with my experience (though disappointed with my terrible time — I’m confident if I could’ve properly prepped this is a solid BQ option)
The Cowtown 🏆

Great logistics, well-organized (including a little worship service before the Sunday morning start), and excellent scenery through Ft. Worth and the Stockyards. Spectators are enthusiastic and this race has a solid “Texas” feel to it. And the finisher medal is outstanding.

I can’t describe the feeling of having a marine put a medal around your neck at the end, taking a pic in front of the Iwo Jima memorial, and running through Rock Creek Park and past so many amazing national monuments.
The biggest challenge with this race is the miles around the National Mall, which is well lined with spectators (a plus) who for some reason feel they can dart across the course in front of runners (a major negative). I understand the desire to move around in that area, but I saw too many close calls.
The uphill mile around mile 20 that takes you into Crystal City is as rough as they say, especially on a warmer and sunnier-than-normal day. Plan accordingly — I have this unfair negative view of that amazing town as all the people there cheered while I suffered.
A great race overall.

This race is small but does a nice job of highlighting those that battle with cancer and all that Texas Oncology does for them. I ran in honor of my wife and mom, each of whom have conquered breast cancer.
I’ll be running again in 2025!
