The race was very well organized. Corrals were well spaced and the assignments for A-D were based on previous race times so most runners began at roughly the same pace. The 6am start mattered as it was fairly hot at that point and the temperature continued to rise. The first half of the race was fairly scenic and went through some well known areas of Miami Beach. After 13.1 miles the crowd thinned considerably (only about 2,400 of 15,000 runners did the marathon distance). Second half of the race went through more residential areas and had less crowd support but was still well sign posted and marshalled. There were ample aid stations with lots of water/Gatorade/first aid support/toilets for the marathon distance. Very “Miami” medals and also medals for age group winners. Water, Gatorade, bananas, snacks and a full meal in a box at the finish. A recommended race.
